What is FirstNet?

FirstNet is a program that was created and sponsored by the federal government after 9/11/2001. As it was shown, first responders and critical service providers couldn’t get through the communication lines with the mass number of people making calls all at the same time. This program prioritizes these types of responders, as to “put them at the front of the call line” allowing for calls to go through in highly congested areas such as sporting events, festivals and during catastrophic events.

What does this mean for you?

As an employee of Town of Burgaw, you are eligible to be a part of this program which allows you to pay $39.99 for your personal plan with truly unlimited data (no throttling!).
