The Police Community Advisory Board was approved in January 2021 by the Town of Burgaw Board of Commissioners. The Advisory Board has been established to provide an organized forum for two-way communication between the police department and the community. The importance of citizen involvement in policing is a strategy to solidify the transparency and trust between local law enforcement and the public it serves. The Advisory Board will assist in identifying community partnerships and resources, receive and relay information and comments from citizens, input on officer training and education, guidance on officer safety and wellness programs, and other instrumental duties to benefit the department and our citizens. Membership will be seven (7) members appointed by the Burgaw Board of Commissioners that reside within the corporate limits of the town. Board members will meet quarterly and serve a two (2) year term. Interested citizens can locate the application link under "Quick Links".
