The Town of Burgaw offers a competitive benefit package. As a town employee you may become a member of the Local Government Federal Credit Union.
All town employees who are expected to work over 1,000 hours annually shall become a member of the Local Government Employees Retirement System. The employee is required to contribute 6% of their gross wages into the Retirement System. The town also participates in the North Carolina Prudential Supplemental Retirement 401K Plan. The town contributes 5% of employee's gross on all full-time permanent employees.
The town provides Health, Dental, and Life insurance at no cost to the employee. The town also offers vision paid by the employee. The employee may cover dependents under the town's insurance policy at the employee's expense.
The town offers a voluntary supplemental insurance for disability, cancer, life and accident to all full-time permanent employees.
All employees, (full and part-time) are covered under the North Carolina Workers Compensation Act. All full-time employees accrue vacation and sick leave according to the schedule below:
